dinner
Orlando Restaurant Week has a new name...Bite30, and this year they have some great deals at some of the best restaurants in Orlando.

Orlando Restaurant Week/Bite30 is put on once a year by the folks at Orlando Weekly. It's a citywide celebration of culinary delights that takes place from June 1-30 where participating restaurants offer special prix fixe menus that offer multi-course lunches or dinners at a set price.

Diners get the opportunity to try multiple dishes on the restaurant’s menu for about the cost of a single entree, and restaurants get to showcase their specialty dishes to the new customers attracted by the Bite30 menu!

These great restaurants are offering you a great deal, delicious food and fantastic service so you can experience the best they have to offer. It’s a great way to try diverse dishes, multiple courses and many unique restaurants, all at a discount! Dine out as much as you can, and bring your friends! Bite30 is always best when experienced with great company!

All you have to do is choose a price point (lunches are $10-$15 and dinners are $15-$30), check out the restaurant menus listed under that price point, choose your restaurant and GO EAT!

There’s no need for special cards or coupons, just ask for the Bite30 menu.

Some of the $30 Dinners include a great selection of top notch places like:

Artisan’s Table, Carmel Café & Wine Bar, Citrus Restaurant, Cityfish, K Restaurant, Le Coq au Vin, Maxine’s on Shine, Park Plaza Gardens, Rangetsu, Santiago’s Bodega, Taverna Yamas, Txokos Basque Kitchen, The Strand, Paxia Modern Mexican Restaurant.

For a complete listing and to see all available menu offerings go to bite30.com

Reservations are suggested at $30 restaurants.

I don't know about you, but I'm certainly going to hit up a few of those fine establishments.

One of Orlando's very own lands a spot on Master Chef Season 5 **Updated**

The top finalists have been revealed for the upcoming season of Master Chef, and Orlando's very own Francis Biondi is one of the finalists to make it past the first round.

Biondi is a 25 year old server who won over the judges with his dish of Crusted Halibut Cheeks on Moroccan Chickpea Ragu.

Following an intense first round of competition with unexpected twists and eliminations, the judges announced the talented hopefuls who proved worthy of a coveted white apron and will advance in the competition.

The MASTERCHEF Season Five Top Finalists are: Francis Biondi, Whitney Bray, Cutter Brewer, Elizabeth Cauvel, Ahran Cho, Leslie Gilliams, Christian Green, Gordon Houston, Jordan Kaminski, Courtney Lapresi, Astrid Lavenia, Francis Legge, Elise Mayfield, Daniel McGuffey, Willie Mike, Kira Novak, Victoria Scroggins, Christine Silverstein, Stephani Syfax-Shepherd, Tyler Viars, Jaimee Vitolo and Dan Wu.

The competition continues on Monday, June 2 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, as the Top Finalists face their first mystery box challenge of the season. The contestants will have 90 minutes to cook a unique and impressive dish using mainly dessert ingredients including chocolate, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, brandy, ladyfingers, extracts, honey and ground coffee.

The winner of the mystery box challenge will have a significant advantage in the next round and determine which classic American dishes the remaining contestants will have to prepare in the elimination round. At the end of the episode, the MASTERCHEF journey will end for two home cooks.

You can check out his Facebook profile by clicking on the link, and you can watch his bio in the Youtube video below.

Tune in this Monday night to cheer on our hometown hopeful!

***Update****--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It looks Francis may have a few tricks up his sleeve after he impressed the Chefs with his meatloaf. The meatloaf was made out of Short Rib and Lamb and was stuffed with Burrata Cheese and served in a very nice looking Romesco sauce.

Both Joe and Gordon were equally impressed, and we all know that's a hard thing to do.

Stay tuned this Monday, as Francis and the rest of the contestants figure out how to feed 500 servicemen and women.

***Update*** 6/9/14---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a rough start in the challenge that involved feeding 500 service men and women, The Red Team captained by Francis pulled it out and won. For their reward they got to hang out up stairs and watch members of the blue team go into a blueberry pie bake off and face elimination.

Francis Biondi is still going strong....so stay tuned and keep cheering!
