New Tastes!

Tastes Of Orlando was invited to a pre launch event for a new restaurant reservation service and website that is kicking off in Orlando first. Being a foodie blogger, I was asked to share my thoughts and do a write up for what I think is going to be an excellent service. is new comer to the online restaurant game.  They are changing the way you can book restaurants online. Sure,  we already have Open Table, E-vites and others, and you can even try and book with the restaurant directly. So far nobody has done what Every Occasion is attempting.

So what exactly is

It is a new way to organize any social gathering of more than 10 people. It’s a one-stop shop where you can search and find restaurants and other venues, view and compare all of the menus in one place, book your party and pay online. All without calling or going to the restaurant.

Being that Orlando has such a  transient population full of tourists and transplants from all over the world, who come to Orlando for special occasions, I think this idea is brilliant.

They have everything all figured out for you, whether you are just trying to book a large group for an evening out, or for that special occasion.

Often times, even if you book with a restaurant directly, it can be frustrating to plan everything for your large group. Every Occasion's goal is to make sure the fun doesn’t get lost in the planning.

The process is fairly simple.

Enter your search criteria such as what type of occasion...Birthday, Bridal, Corporate etc, then select your location. Orlando is going to be the first, with San Diego and Tampa to follow soon.

Next you can browse through restaurants, look at photos, compare menus and read all about the decor.

You then Reserve your party online after you find your perfect venue by clicking on reserve and EveryOccasion will contact the restaurant to secure your booking.

You or each person attending the event, can safely pay online ahead of time before you go to your event so you don’t have to worry about fighting for the bill or waiting behind to settle the check at the end of your party.

There is even an invitation system so you can Invite your friends with a personalized invitation that EveryOccasion will create for you to email to your guests.

That's pretty easy if you ask me! If you have ever tried to plan a large event, you know it can be frustrating and time consuming.

EveryOccasion takes the work out of planning so you don't have to waste time searching through websites and calling restaurants. They have all of the information in one place!

Most restaurants currently affiliated with EveryOccasion have multiple menu offerings.  The current menus available to choose from, range from about $15.00/person all the way up to $150.00/person, depending on the restaurant and menu you choose.

For example, at Le Rouge Wine Bar, the $15.00/person menu gets you a chef selected hors d'oeuvres sampling and two drink pairings. For something in the mid price range, the $35.00/person you will get soup or salad, choice of glazed chicken breast or pan seared salmon for your entree and an apple crisp pie for desert.

At a place like Taste in College Park, you will find a menu that goes up to $125.00/person. This menu includes such items as, Foie Gras appetizers, roasted Pheasants and French Lemonade with Floating Frozen Strawberries and Basil-Infused Vodka.

EveryOccasion really does have menus for Every Occasion and every budget.

Your menu price will include all taxes and gratuities as well as your non adult beverage, unless otherwise stated.

Tastes Of Orlando really recommends the next time you have an event to plan, whether its for 10 people or for 100, check them out because they have you covered!

During my day job, I do sales and  drive all over Central Florida.

One of the perks is, that every so often I come across some rare finds in places a little off the beaten path when I am searching for a quick bite for lunch.

On a recent Monday afternoon while I was in Kissimmee, I came across this brightly colored building next door to a 7-11.  The wild color scheme and the idea of a cheese steak sandwich for lunch caught my interest, so I headed over to the CheeseSteak Factory.

The Cheesesteak Factory is a family owned sandwich and pizza shop shop, that as far as I can tell was formerly known as The Corner Bistro in Kissimmee.

The menu is pretty simple...Cheese Steaks, hot subs, sandwiches, and Gyros along with pizza and calzones. Of course they specialize in authentic Philly Cheese steaks.

The Inside is small, but there is plenty of seating if you wish to dine inside. They also have a private room available for catered functions.

I ordered the 6" Philly with all the usual toppings...grilled onions and peppers.

I also thought I would try out the "Tots"

The Philly was pretty darn good. I would have to say about as good as any of the best ones I have had in Central Florida.

The bread was very fresh and the meat was seasoned very well. There was generous amounts of meat, and plenty of cheese and toppings.

The Tots were also really good.

If you ever find yourself passing down 192 in Kissimmee please stop by and grab a might be just as wowed by the Philly at The CheeseSteak Factory as you are by the bright colors.
